The short version: this website has no cookies and no tracking, the free tools run only in your browser, and the extension keeps your data local. Below is a plain-English overview.

The site is a static website hosted by Netlify, Inc. (USA). To deliver the pages, Netlify processes technical connection data (IP address, time, requested page, user agent) in server logs (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, with a data processing agreement and EU standard contractual clauses). The site sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking. Your light/dark preference is stored only in your own browser.
The free tools & checklists
The generators, the calculator and the checklists run entirely in your browser. What you type is never sent to us or anyone else. The interactive checklists remember which items you've ticked using your browser's local storage on your own device – that data stays with you and is never transmitted. Clearing your browser data or using the "Reset" button removes it.
The Chrome extension
The WohnungsBewerber extension processes your data only locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local). No data is transmitted to us or third parties, sold, or used for advertising; there is no tracking or analytics. It is an assistant, not a bot: it never sends messages on your behalf (you review and click send yourself), reads only the listing you have opened, and never bypasses any login or technical protection. If you start an application run, it additionally remembers the titles and addresses of that search's result list – again only locally, to guide you from listing to listing. Alongside your profile it stores the listing's key facts (title, location, size, price) and, where stated in the listing, the contact person's name and salutation so the letter is addressed correctly.
The optional AI feature is off by default and requires a separate, optional browser permission. Only if you enable it, consent to the data notice and enter your own Anthropic API key are the data needed for the letter sent to Anthropic (api.anthropic.com, USA). You can delete all data anytime via "Reset profile" (profile, letter history, documents status) or "Delete all data" (additionally applications list, filters and AI settings including the API key), export and re-import everything as JSON (Art. 20 GDPR), or uninstall the extension. Letter history is thinned automatically after 90 days.
No sharing, your rights & contact
No data is sold, shared for advertising, or tracked. Under the GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection. Because almost everything stays on your own device, you can exercise most of these yourself at any time by resetting or uninstalling.
